Fertilization is a process in which the male gamete or sperm and the female gamete or ovum fuse, and the genetic material from the sperm and the ovum combine to form a embryo.

Factors preventing fertilization

Well, the process of fertilization may not always be successful. Several factors can prevent the normal process of fertilization.

Hormonal imbalance or irregularities characterized by irregular menstrual cycles can affect the process of ovulation. If the ovary does not release an egg during the cycle, obviously there will be no chance of fertilization.
Block in the fallopian tubes is a common cause
Endometriosis is a condition that contributes to a significant percentage of female infertility. Here the tissue from the uterine lining grows outside the uterus, on the fallopian tubes, ovaries, bladder or bowel, thereby stopping the process of fertilization.
Low sperm motility is a common factor among men that interrupts the process of fertilization. Even after entering the women's body, if the sperms are unable to swim and reach the egg, fertilization is not possible.
